What inspired the photo and how does it relate to the theme?
A depressed photographer am I as I wake to a heavy, gray sky. But I haul myself to a dawn walk in the Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Florida. A sudden "whoosh" and with a ducking fast click, I have caught this "face in the sky." Suddenly, I am ecstatic at this piece of "surreal realism" gifted to me by this wood stork coming home to nest behind me. She might not be a classically beautiful bird, but the spread feathers for landing and the slight blur of wing tips transforms her to the face of a goddess in the sky. A timeless capture and daily reminder that if you don't get out of bed, life is just going to pass you by. If you don't buy the ticket, you can't win the lottery! Any day is a good day for photography.
