Artist Statement

On the day of this shoot, my mood matches the heavy gray sky, but I   haul myself to a dawn walk in Florida's Wakodahatchee Wetlands. A sudden "whoosh" overhead. A quick click puts kimberlite in my camera and makes me smile. The wood stork's spread feathers for landing, and slight blur of wing tips, transforms her into the face of a goddess above me. This piece of "surreal realism" is a timeless reminder that every day is a good day to chase one's passion, in my case photography
