Mima Cataldo

About The Artist

Mima Cataldo has been a street and social documentary photographer for over forty years, and has had solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in San Francisco, New York, and Boston. She is a published author and has had careers as a social science professor and librarian. Until her retirement in 2007, she was the District Librarian for the Reed Union School District.

Artist Statement

Walking through an urban landscape, I notice the colorful and the sobering. The disparities may be glaring or subtle, and I make a photograph to capture and highlight that fleeting and defining moment, making it everlasting.
