Susanne Houfek

In the first half of my adult life, I worked for Fortune 500 firms and was a consultant to start-up companies. I then made a 180 degree switch to creative and more joyful pursuits. I began writing and doing photography, with my articles and photos published in general interest magazines and academic journals. I also traveled the world with my camera, seeking beauty, joy and play.

Europeans love their public baths. It all started with the ancient Romans, who built public baths around hot springs throughout their empire. Here in Budapest, in the over 100-years-old Széchenyi Thermal Baths, fed by underground hot springs, city-dwellers enjoy a leisurely afternoon of socializing, game-play and mental challenge in the warm waters.
